Welcome to Freedom Canal Studio. I’m Captain David, the business owner, and I live aboard with my Burmese husband, Pyae. I bought Freedom in 2017 as a home for me and my grand piano. It was built in Poland with a sunroof big enough to fit the piano in which also gives the saloon a beautiful light open space for entertaining, making music, eating and sleeping. Guests who sleep in the saloon at night often have the sunroof open to see the stars. We accommodate over 100 guests for B&B each summer and host several parties.
For 5 years Freedom cruised in and around London’s canals. After a summer in Oxford Freedom moved to Bath in 2023. Winters are now in a marina near Devizes. when Pyae and I go away. Summers are spent cruising in and around Bath.
I am also an owner/Director of a music production business. Pyae owns a smoothie business called Burma Blender Bike in Yangon and also works here in the UK in the hospitality industry.
