Nikos Stavlas recital, cruise and lunch

Many thanks for a really delightful occasion. I was most impressed with the boat and its fittings  - not to mention the piano  -  and Nicos’s  fine playing.  A big kiss, too, for Edson  both for collecting me and for all the trouble he took over the delicious food.   Great to meet your charming sister and several of your other guests.  It was really interesting to see the  -  to me   -  amazingly extensive  developments of the  Olympic Park from the canal side.

Nikos Stavlas event

I absolutely loved the day!  A very well organised recital.  The boat was very nice and cosy, the music was beautiful and the food was very good.   I also had vegan options!  David is a great host and I will most probably go to another one of these events.

Nikos Stavlas event

David, we can not thank you enough for today. The event was simply perfect. We appreciated your friendly & relaxed welcome; the short, accessible description of each carefully chosen piece prior to Nikos' outstanding interpretation; the colourful, varied delicious canapés prepared by Edson & delicately labelled with origami swans; the steady cruise & the opportunity to enjoy your boat inside or out. It was a privilege to be part of your inaugural event & we wish you well going forward. Here's my bit. Hope it's OK.David, we can not thank you enough for today. The event was simply perfect. Cello recital

Our concert experience on board the canal boat Freedom last Saturday was one of the best we have had for many years. Listening to Frantisek Brikcius' wonderful cello playing in these intimate surroundings (with maximum 12 guests) is a great experience. Add on to that the good food, the friendly atmosphere and a fantastic trip on the canals of London you have the perfect concert experience. In these days of insecurity in the classical music world we need entrepreneurs like David Lewis to save our bacon. This is part of what the classical music experience should be and was indeed in the past. Michael Nolan and Karin Lyeteg (professional musicians)
